Who we are

Tech Career Growth (“us”, “we”, “our”) operates http://www.techcareergrowth.com (the “Site”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information we receive from users of our Site. We’re always looking to improve, and serve you better, so please contact us with any questions, comments, or suggestions – including about our Privacy Policy. Visiting our site means you trust us to handle your data responsibly. We humbly thank you, and we take our duty to protect your data very seriously.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

User Posted Data

While using our Site, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to your name and email address (“Personal Information”).

When visitors fills our our contact form, submits comments, reviews, ratings, or other information on our site (“User Posted Data”), we collect that User Posted Data, and the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Your profile picture may be visible to the public in the context of your User Posted Data.

Media

If you share images with us or our Site, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to our site can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact

We may use your Personal Information to contact you with newsletters, marketing, or promotional materials and other information. You may always unsubscribe from this if it’s not useful to you.

Cookies

If you place an order or submit User Posted Data on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and additional information in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you return for other activity on our site. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you submit a rating, review, or article on our site an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the rating, review, or article. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Though we try to limit it, this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Log Data and Analytics

Like many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site (“Log Data”).

This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics.

In addition, since we need to contact you after you place an order, we store your full name and email address, linked with your orders (“Order Data”). This is Order Data associated with your account, if you’ve chosen to create one.

We use WordPress and various plugins, builders, and all other capabilities it provides (“Word Press Site”). The Word Press Site gathers analytics similar to Google Analytics (“Analytics Data”).

We do not sell your data to third parties.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a rating or review, this data and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-ups / updates automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our site (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have submitted User Data, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Who we share your data with

We don’t share this with anyone unless we absolutely need to. Specifically, your credit card information (including billing address, required for processing by credit card companies) is processed through a Third Party Service such as Stripe, Paypal, or Square. Your email address is shared with automated systems which help us prevent spam/attacks, help you unsubscribe from our emails, or process things like payment. Apart from those and similar purposes, we do not share this data. We do not sell your data for any reason.

Additional information

How to protect your data

We use your data only for providing and improving the Site. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of data, including Personal Information you share with us, in accordance with this policy.

The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

If any of our privacy policies are a concern, you still have options. Of course you can choose to not use our site, but we think companies who use this model aren’t really trying to help their users. So instead, here are some tips we suggest – you can use any of these or all of them:

  • Open a new Private/Incognito browser window. A new Private/Incognito tab will still maintain session information between the tabs of the same window. So we really emphasize opening a new Private/Incognito window. If you’re not sure how this works, here’s an even simpler way: completely close and quite your browser, open only a new Private/Incognito window, browse in this window, and then completely quit the browser when you’re done (and open it again to visit the next site you want to go to).
  • Log out of your account when you’re done, even if you’re in a Private/Incognito window.
  • Do not save any extra data to your account (such as credit card), if you create one. Or, even safer, do not create an account at all.

What data breach procedures we have in place

We believe there are two types of companies: those who know their data has been breached, and those who don’t know that it’s been breached. Breaches happen. If your data from our site is breached, we will attempt to mitigate and protect. We will then inform you of this as soon as it is safe to do so (examples of ‘unsafe’ scenarios where we would delay or limit contacting you for a small period of time: if the risk to your privacy would increase by contacting you too early, or if the ability for us to understand the situation or have remediation is blocked). Finally, we will provide options for remediation, and updates as any situation like that unfolds. We sincerely hope we never have to navigate a breach of your data, but we are ready to do our absolute best to protect you.

Change to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is effective as of October 4, 2020 and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page.

We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time and you should check this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Service after we post any modifications to the Privacy Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy.

If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you either through the email address you have provided us, or by placing a prominent notice on our website.
